Step-by-Step Procedure for
Medical Transportation
- Request
for transport; In coming request; Transport
Coordinator obtains basic patient medical information, completes
request form and answers caller’s questions.
- Origination : Location of patient: name of hospital,
and address (e.g., city, state and/or country) ready
- Destination:
where patient is to be transported
e.g.,
name of facility / hospital and address.
- Patient :
date of Birth
- Date
of transport
- Price: The
air ambulance price is all-inclusive; ground transportation in
both cities included
- Contract
and Payment options discussed
- Call for Medical Report, Clearance to fly A
medical professional will get a full medical report from the attending
facility prior to transport and obtain medical clearance
to fly
- Passengers: 1-to-2
family members may travel at no additional charge with approval of
Dir of OPS. and medical desk.
- Ground
Transport: Transport Coordinators will make all
ground transportation arrangements.
- Luggage: 2
carry-on size pieces are allowed
- Arrange for additional luggage to be shipped
- Transport
Begins: Patient Departure from facility with ground ambulance
and medical team.
- Arrival at
airport with the aircraft waiting. Patient is secured on an FAA approved
stretcher. Monitors, Meds etc set up
- In-Flight, flight coordinators track flight and provide updated
time of arrival (ETA) and patient’s condition to relatives,
the arriving facility and ground vehicles/ ambulance
- In-flight
food: special dietary needs arranged as needed for long flights.
- Destination: ground
transportation/ ambulance and crew meet aircraft at local FBO and
patient is transported to receiving facility.
- Completion: Family
members, facility and parties involved are notified of patient’s
arrival by coordinator
